IN EXCESS......A Three-Person show with works by Maureen Gasek, Norm Knott and Jennifer Krantz

Whether made of paint on canvas or reclaimed resources, the contemporary art featured in this exhibition both challenges and delights. Unexpected and thoughtful, In Excess offers a dynamic framework for considering questions of nature, memory, responsibility, material recycling, ethical consumption, prosperity and of course, decadent beauty.

MAUREEN GASEK

Marueen has been painting and working with other media artisically since childhood. She studied at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. Her other concentrations were painting, metals and photography. Maureen works with abstract, organic forms and uses bold, concentrated colors and textures.

NORM KNOTT

Norm Knott began studying art while a sickly kid of five years old and has continued learning without formal instruction for over twenty years. He defines his art as one that uses found objects of varying color and texture that seem to have outlived their usefulness. In fact, extending the life of these objects, photos and costume jewelry is central to Knott's artistic concept and inspiration. These bejeweled constructions often come with subtle but powerfully ironic messages about recent or historical events or people.

JENNIFER KRANTZ

Using still-life objects as a platform, Jennifer Krantz creates unique and purely imaginative environments where they can evolve, multiply, or break down and decay. Her work is about creating visual contradictions between organic and geometric, shiny versus dull or graphic versus atmospheric. Krantz earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from Northern Illinois University. She is a full-time artist who owns J.M. Krantz Fine Arts in Winnebago.
